>Sniffing for storiesPosted: April 11, 2007
>Today I’m heading to a conference near Portland. I’m not going there for a story, but I’m keeping my eyes open. There’s bound to be something on the way or at the conference itself that I could spin into a yarn. When I get back, I’m scheduled for jury duty. More chances for stories. I picture it like my dog coming into the kitchen, exploring every little dot on the floor. Most of what she finds are pine needles, sock fuzz and bugs, but every once in a while there’s a bite of something good. She sees it, sniffs it, then laps it up with her big pink tongue. Dogs never miss a chance to eat. Writers should never miss a chance to write–even if it’s silly like this post.
